Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Mid-Corporates are contributing approximately 30% of GDP, 50% of exports and 35% of total manufacturing output of the country. They spearhead innovations, foster the entrepreneurship drive, inculcate entrepreneurial instincts and stimulate private ownership that help national growth through investments and employment creation, especially in semi-urban & rural areas.

Recognizing the vital role played by SMEs and Mid-Corporates, Dun & Bradstreet organized the ‘Business Enterprises of Tomorrow 2022’ event. The event hosted several dignitaries, including representatives from the Government, Ministries/bodies, industry veterans, and other distinguished thought leaders.

We were selected as Business Enterprises of Tomorrow 2022 under the category Mid Corporate – Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals by an eminent jury panel that included Mr. Gopal Murali Bhagat, Deputy Chief Executive, Indian Banks’ Association; Mr. Parag Parikh, CFO, Adani Total Gas Limited; and Mr. Prabhakar Dalal, Former Executive Director, EXIM Bank of India.

With great pleasure we are sharing the good news of Neelikon being awarded the Prestigious Award “TRISHUL” instituted by the export promotion Council – CHEMEXCIL under the category of Panel – I : Dyes & Dye Intermediates -Large Scale Manufacturing (LSM) for the outstanding export performance for the year 2016-17.

CHEMEXCIL is set up by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry Government of India in the year 1963 with the objective of promoting exports of the following items from India to various countries abroad. These items have been grouped into IV separate Panels:

Panel – I : Dyes and Dye Intermediates

Panel – II : Basic Inorganic & Organic Chemicals, including Agrochemicals

Panel – III : Cosmetics, Soaps, Toiletries & Essential Oils

Panel – IV : Speciality Chemicals, Lubricants And Castor oil

Neelikon was awarded Trishul under the category of Panel – I: Dyes & Dye Intermediates – Large Scale Manufacturing (LSM) for the outstanding export performance for the year 2016-17.

This award was presented by Hon’ble Minister of State for Commerce, Industry and Civil Aviation Shri. Suresh Prabhu in April 2018.

Neelikon is pleased to announce that our founder and Managing Director Mr. Mukund Turakhia was presented the ‘UAA-ICT Distinguished Alumnus Award’ (Entrepreneur Category) for the year 2017-2018. The award was presented at the Foundation Day Celebrations of the UDCT Alumni Association (UAA), on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT)in Mumbai.

The award was in recognition of Mr. Mukund‘s more than 50 years contribution to the Indian dyestuff industry and specifically to his pioneering role in developing food, drug and cosmetic dyes and fluorescent dyes manufacturing in India with indigenous technology.

Mr. Mukund is an alumni (1962-1966) of ICT which was founded in 1933 as a University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT) of the University of Mumbai.

ICT is considered to be one of the best post-graduate institutes in India. The international surveys conducted by Professor Jude Sommerfeld of Georgia Institute of Technology for the 5-year period during 2007-2011 described ICT as the best chemical engineering institute in India on the basis of no. of research papers published. Besides it was ranked 4th in the world after MIT, Delaware University and Georgia Tech.

The Institute has produced more than 500 first generation entrepreneurs and academicians. Government of India’s top civilian honors including 3 Padma Shri and 8 each of Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan have been bestowed upon various alumni ICT. Only two Indian engineers, namely Raghunath Mashelkar and Man Mohan Sharma, have been bestowed with the fellowship of the Royal Society, both of whom are alumni of ICT.
